Outdoor Space
At Hibiscus we offer a large open outdoor area, fostering all types of play "invites open-ended interactions, spontaneity, risk taking, exploration, discovery and connection with nature. Quality Areo 3 of the NQS. (DEEWR, 2009). We aim to foster a love of nature and natural spaces with a sense of responsibility. Hibiscus has veggie patches, flower beds, an edible garden, digging patch, room to run and quiet spaces to retreat. Sand, mud, water and natural play materials.

Transition
to school
Our transition to school focuses on strong reciprocal relationships between the Preschool, schools and families. This ensures our transition program meets the needs of children and families in our community.
Hibiscus is fortunate to be on the grounds of Daceyville Public School with literacy groups, shared special days - such as Harmony Day and school library visits. Our children feel very much a part of the local school community.
The forge grounds of Daceyville school give us the opportunity, to become familiar with this environment throughout the year. Our program is set up to give children the best start into kindergarten and a successful transition to their primary school years.

Play Base Learning Curriculum
Interests and strengths are scaffolded into each child's individual program.
Educators observe, document, and reflect to plan for your child. We build warm and responsive relationships enabling children and their families to be active participants in their own learning journey.

Child Focused
Our cycle of planning includes, observations,
planned and unplanned experiences, assessment of learning and reflections. Our program is shared via the STORYPARK App as well as Floorbooks and our room displays, our Quality Improvement Plan in Action.

Variety of Experiences
Multi disciplinary learning for various interests.
We provide opportunities such as Yoga and meditation, gardening, Art, Music and fundamental movement skills. Drama, Sand and water play, science and learning to care for and respect our environment as well as numeracy and literacy.

We believe partnerships are at the core of Education and we acknowledge the crucial role parents play in their Childs education. By being involved in any way you can our goals is to work together for the best start in learning. As a community based not-for-profit preschool, we welcome parental involvement.

Hibiscus builds a sense of community by creating an environment of inclusiveness and Collaboration allowing all to feel valued and heard. Families are invited to join the Management Committee.
History of Hibiscus
Hibiscus was formed in 1977 in the grounds of the old Sydney showgrounds at Paddington. Like minded parents wonted on an open, caring, natural environment for their children. When the Stadium was built in 1984 the Centre was relocated to the grounds of Daceyvile Public School.

We have a parent management committee. Hibiscus is above ratio in both Educators and their qualifications.

2024 Fees
Fees are reduced and reviewed yearly in line with Government funding at present Hibiscus offers 2 free days for Fee Relief - Start Strong.
Additional days are:
Funded equity fee $15
Unfunded $60
Which fee will you pay?
Government legislation endeavours to give all children 600 hours of preschool education for their year prior to school through Start Strong. This equates to 2 days a week. Due to these funding arrangements, if your child is attending for a third day this will be at an increased cost to the prior days. Fees are determined by the Hibiscus Preschool Parent Management Committee.
The NSW Department of Education requires parents to sign the ‘Consent to use and disclosure of personal information’ form at the time of enrolment. Your eligibility for Start Strong Funding is conditional upon signing this form.

4 year old Start Strong fee is charged for:
Children who are 4 years of age on or before 31 July in that preschool year. 2 days per week enrolment.
3 year old Start Strong fee is charged for:
Children who are 4 years of age on or before 31 July in that preschool year. 2 days per week enrolment.
Start Strong Equity fee is charged for:
Children who are at least 3 years of age on or before 31 July in that preschool year. 2 days per week enrolment.
Within the following criteria:
- Health Care Card (in the name of the parent with the child
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Children with a diagnosed disability or delay
Start Strong Equity fee is charged for:
Children attend for a third day
